Our Daily Bread Food Pantry is located at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Advance. The food pantry serves over a 1000 people each month. The pantry is located in the basement of the fellowship hall at the church. Families come in to “shop”. When they arrive, they check in and are then allowed, when it is their turn, to go around the food pantry and pick out what they need that is available. The food pantry is run by a small number of the congregation at the church and is supported by local grocery chains and other organizations. A small amount of food is received from the Food Bank, but numbers have been lowered recently. Macedonia Moravian has done food and toilet paper (a great need for which they are not allowed to purchase stock) drives for the pantry and continue to partner with them.

Each Sunday, except on communion Sunday, during the 11 am service, a children’s sermon is presented. All of the children are asked to come down to the front for a brief special message.
